Daniel and I are so happy to say that we are finally living in our new home! We got the keys exactly 1 week ago and moved in on Wednesday last week. I love it here and its so nice being close to town and Daniels work. It has been quite the experience trying to unpack and get things organised here but it is coming along. Our bedroom was the first room to look half normal and the kitchen was second. The guest rooms look like the storage locker we moved everything out of. Boxes on boxes on boxes. Just have to take it one box at a time I guess! Even though it might be a bit of a mess it still feels like home and we couldnt be happier. The view is incredible and watching the sunrise here takes my breath away. Photos dont do it justice.
Sometimes it doesn't seem real that we actually have our own home now. I still find myself doing things quietly even when its just me at the house.. well me and our pup. Who is also loving it here. She is very sweet and loves to be around Daniel and I. Kensie even learned a new trick this week, "paw". Only her right paw but working on her left and "lay down" seems to be out of the question right now. At least she knows how to sit and sometimes stay. Having a fenced yard is great and the house already had a dog door installed into the addition. Perfect for when it gets a little stormy or chilly outside. She actually prefers to use her dog door than the real door when we open it for her. Daniel is out for a bike ride right now and I think Kensie is the one doing all the work. I didnt see him pedal at all when he left.
Daniel came home from work last night and surprised me with flowers and healthy chocolate peanut butter. I think my husband knows me well!! <3 We had a nice dinner together then went outside with Kensie and got a little fire going to burn some of the boxes we had from moving. It was the perfect night! To top it off he didnt have to work today and has tomorrow off as well. I am so thankful and feel so blessed to be living in this perfect house with my amazing husband and our sweet girl, Kensie.
We also want to thank everyone for all the incredible gifts we got for our wedding, I have already used so many of them, they were the first thing I unpacked! Every where I look I see the gifts and I am reminded of all the love and support we have from friends and family back home. We miss everyone so much and if anyone wants to come visit us we have 2 spare rooms! ;)
Pics to come later! :)
Thats all for now,

Still Waiting
Its been almost 2 weeks since the last update there have been a few changes and interesting events. I'll start with the house updates.
Most of you knew we were to have the home inspection on done Saturday August 29th. The inspection went quite well. There are a couple things around the house that need repaired or updating but over all it passed! Daniel and I waved the conditions for the inspection but have yet to wave the financial conditions. We met with the bank this past week and hit a little snag. We were told that we would need to have an appraisal done in order to get the financing. Our realtor set up the appraisal for last friday (Sept. 4th) and we havnt heard back yet. Should know by Wednesday though. We were hoping to take possession by the 16th but because the bank needed the house appraised we had to ask for an extension to wave the finances. So the date was pushed an extra week. We are a little nervous now but are praying that it all works out.
Oh, and our dog Kensie decided to escape yesterday morning right when Daniel was heading to bed (8am) after working a 12 hour midnight shift. (6:15pm-6:30am) I peeked outside to make sure she was doing alright and saw the line she was attached to but no dog on the end. Its a good thing she hates cats and there are a bunch in the area. They distracted her from running too far and we found her only a few blocks away thanks to a man out walking. We also found 3 neighborhood cats up in the trees. I dont blame her for escaping though. Her collar was still on, she didnt chew through anything or break anything, the line just came unhooked somehow. We still havnt figured it out.
On a positive note, Daniel recently had a week off work and we were able to spend lots of time with each other, with our friends Gabe and Rachael, their two girls and our new pup. We also got to explore Horseshoe Canyon just outside of Drumheller. It is unlike anything I've ever seen.
Thats it in a nut shell.
Hopefully we will have an update later this week!

Our Adventure
Okay, so this is my first time ever writing a blog and I have no idea what I'm doing. I know a few people back home in Ontario are wanting to know how things are going for Daniel and I. I decided to write a blog to keep everyone up to date.
So for everyone that doesn't already know, Daniel and I got married on May 30th 2015. Two days after the wedding Daniel had to return to Regina, Saskatchewan for another month and a half of training. :( On April 12th 2015 Daniel began training in Regina to become a Correctional Officer, half way through, he came home and married me, then went back and completed his training. We found out part way through his training that he would be assigned to the Drumheller Institution in Alberta and would begin work 2 and a half weeks after graduating. On July 8th my father-in-law and I attended Daniels graduation, we all flew home on the 9th. Daniel and I had about 1 week to visit family and friends before our big move out to Alberta.
We were so blessed to have amazing friends (basically family), Ron and Penny, living only an hour from Daniels new work. (I grew up with Ron and Penny and Ron actually married Daniel and I) They have allowed us to stay with them until we gain possession of our own home. We couldn't be more thankful for everything they have done for us and all the delicious food they have been feeding us! :)
Daniel and I are getting our own home very soon though! We are in the process of getting the finances and insurance sorted out, the home inspection is on Saturday morning and then we are set! We are to take possession on September 16th, but it could be sooner because its already vacant. It would be great if it was sooner so we could take advantage of Daniels week off work to move everything and get settled. We can't wait to finally have our own place and I think Kensie, our new pup, will enjoy it too!
We had our hearts set on a cute little place right in Drumheller and all was going well right up until we had the inspection done. They found asbestos in the attic. If you dont know what that is.. click here.. http://www.hiddenkiller.ca/what-it-can-do.asp So clearly we didnt go through with that one. The day after we heard the news Daniel and I went on a crazy house hunting adventure and found the perfect place. It's 15 mins from Daniels work, has way more space than the other one (extra bedroom and bathroom), fenced yard for Kensie and just to top it off... has an incredible view!!! Oh, and it is $77 000 less than the first place!! Like I said, PERFECT! We are praying the inspection goes well on Saturday and if it does we will wave all the conditions and Daniel and I will finally be Home Owners!
Well I guess thats all for now.
I'll keep you posted!
